Makefast Limited are a leading UK based designer and manufacturer of safety and marine products, operating from a purpose built 10,000 sq ft facility in Newtown, Mid Wales.

The company is privately owned under the management of owner directors and have been trading since 1977. Managing Director Bill Brown and Sales Director Brenda Brown are both well known figures in the UK marine and safety business, having built up the business from a small engineering company originally based outside Fareham, on the South Coast of England.

The company relocated to Newtown, Mid Wales, in 1989 and are now one of the leading manufacturing businesses in the Mid Wales region, employing nearly 30 staff and active participants in a local engineering training scheme.

Makefast now supply a comprehensive range of safety and marine components to virtually every major business in both sectors in the UK, as well as many leading companies in the international arena - with export sales to the USA, Japan, South Africa, Australia, Canada and all over mainland Europe.

As well as the Newtown facility, Makefast are also closely linked with Baseline Marine Limited, run by David Cozens (also a shareholder and Director of Makefast), based in Fareham and distributing a full range of marine hardware to the UK marine business, and Techniques Accastillage, a French based distribution business servicing the French marine and safety markets, also part owned and supported by Makefast.
